Works! - Volume control - And much better sound quality. Hope this helps others Regards Martin The details: 1.

If your HDMI device isn't receiving audio. If your HDMI device isn't receiving audio from your Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Settings (or System Preferences), then click Sound. In the Output pane, make sure that your HDMI device is selected. If you're connecting from a Mac mini, disconnect any audio device from your computer's headphone jack.

Here's what you should do to fix any problems connecting an external monitor to your M1 Mac. 1. Reconnect the display. If you plug in your external display and you notice it's blank, blurry, flickering, or just not functioning properly, try unplugging your monitor from your M1 Mac and connecting it again. JuriJurka • 1 yr. ago. same problem here. in settings > display the displwy ain't shown. solution: connect the monitor Go to "sleep" then wait 2 min then wake the macbook up login wait 2min then unplug the monitor then the macbook display should flicker (like it usually flickers when you unplug the monitor) wait 10 seconda plug in the monitor
thanks for your suggestion. It doesnt work as the display is not recognised properly. Its recognised as a 60hz 1080p 30" display, while it is a 4k 60hz 27" display.. IMHO, the new Bug Sur 11.1 caused some problems with the communication with the external display(s). As I can see from above, it is a widely popular issue, too.
